Who we are:
The Cape May County Division of Workforce Development is a program under the Work Force Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA), a federally funded program that provides residents training and education grants in labor demand occupations.
In addition, we offer On-The-Job (OJT) training opportunities that provides unemployed country residents the opportunity to learn a new skill or trade while being paid for up to 26 weeks.
Where are your located and business hours?
We are conveniently located at the Cape May County One-stop Career Center at 3810 New Jersey Ave., Wildwood, NJ 08260, Our office hours are Monday – Friday 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM except state holidays. For information and directions, call 609-729-2234.
Who qualifies for WIOA Funding?
Workforce funding is generally budgeted into Adult, Dislocated Worker, and Older Youth (18-24) categories. The majority of funding is budgeted towards adult and dislocated workers who are unemployed, and others who can qualify based on specific criteria.
Cape May County’s Workforce Development program offers eligible residents education and training grants up to $4,000, and paid (minimum $10 per hour) On-The-Job-Training opportunities.
Do you offer services for youth and high school drop outs?
Out of School Youth: We provide Out of School Youth (ages 16-24) GED preparation and basic education, mentoring, assessment/testing, tutoring, career counseling, occupational skills assessment/training, labor market information, and on-the-job training programs, job search and placement assistance and other supportive services offered through various partner public and non-profit agencies.
In-School Youth: We provide qualified in-school youth supportive education and life-skills training including education (basic skills), college and career readiness activities, career planning, and work experience training (paid and un-paid).

How do I enroll for services?
Registration and orientation sessions are held every Tuesday and Thursday at 1p.m.
What is the approval process?
You must first attend our Employment & Training Orientation session, held every Tuesday and Thursday at 1 p.m.
What job search services do you offer?
The Cape May Workforce Development Center offers a number of workshops to help individuals assess their talents and training needs in preparing for a new job and career. In addition to providing services and training opportunities for adults, we have programs that serve Out of School Youth (age 18-21) and In-School Youth (age 14-16)
What Training Services do you offer?
Before a person can access any type of training services, you must have exhausted all efforts to gain employment through our assessment and job preparation programs. Because of limited funding, training is prioritized by need. Some of the services that are offered include:

Can you help me with my resume?
The One-Stop Career Center offers free workshops that will help you create, edit and finalize a professional resume. We also assist in preparation of your cover letters.
Are services available for non-English speaking clients?
Our staff can accommodate non-English speaking clients. Please contact us regarding your specific language requirements.
